Mark was the president of the IHS Debate Team. He then became a well known economist and author who wrote several books, and once worked for the Federal Trade Commission. In later life he served on the board of the Washington chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Mark battled cancer before he died peacefully in his home in Federal Way on May 24, 2014.
