Dara Krissett Barker went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at the age of 51.
Dara was born on October 16, 1957 in Lake Forest Park, Washington. While life’s adventures took her to Alaska and Idaho, she spent most of her life in Washington State, loving her family. Dara was determined to make a difference in people’s lives. As a single mother of three, Dara graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate. She went on to teach fifth and sixth grades at Woodway Elementary in Edmonds, where she was treasured as an inspirational teacher and friend. Beloved mother and grandmother, she was a shining light to all whose life she touched.
