Paul died on July 10, 1993, on Rainier Avenue South in South Seattle. He and his friends were standing along the street when a car drove by, and shouts were exchanged. The car swung back around and shots were fired from inside the vehicle. Nguyen and another youth were struck. Paul was only 16 years old.
