Erin died in Seattle on October 6, 1991. She was 21 years old.

Kirk passed away on December 26, 1993, after a three-year battle with cancer. He was only 20 years old. In his memory, the Kirk Dawson Memorial Scholarship was set up for graduating IHS seniors.
