Erica was a 17-year-old high-school senior with Down Syndrome who was remembered as a ray of sunshine. “She was a role model for many students,” said her program coordinator, “Always cheerful, helpful, kind, caring, and she had a great sense of humor,” Sadly, Erica died on December 9, 1995, in a car accident near Rockport, WA. She was only 17 years old. A memorial to her was printed in the 1996 yearbook, which you can see pictured below.
