Kristi, aka Kristi Lynn Beattie or Kristi Shaw Beattie, was born on November 1, 1961, in Bellevue. She grew up with her three siblings Kathy, Kerry, and Kelly, and graduated from Interlake in June of 1979. She then graduated from Western Washington University in 1984 with a degree in Education. She then began a career as a teacher, teaching home economics and drill team in Elma. She later taught driving safety and home and family life in Tumwater.
Kristi married Tom Beattie and they had two children together, Brad and Lindsay. Her biggest accomplishment in life was becoming a mom and grammy. Kristi’s greatest gift was the love she gave to the people around her. She was a devoted daughter, loving wife, cherished sister, incredible mom, and the most amazing Grammy. Her heart was filled with compassion, kindness, and an endless ability to make those she loved feel special, supported, and cared for.
Kristi loved being a part of Relay for Life and was deeply passionate about supporting the fight against cancer. Her strength, courage, and determination inspired so many, and Team Kristi is the legacy she leaves behind. In honor of her memory, we invite you to continue her mission by supporting Team Kristi and helping carry on her commitment to raising awareness, supporting those affected by cancer, and working toward a future without this disease.
Sadly, Kristi passed away at her home in Olympia with her family and friends nearby on June 12, 2026. She was 64 years old.
