Michael died of a blood clot in the lungs on April 2, 2009. Diagnosed with autism at age 2, he was a tremendously inspirational student who had been mainstreamed and was carrying a 4.0 GPA at Interlake at the time that he died. A tree was planted and a memorial plaque was erected on the school grounds in his honor on Wednesday April 22nd, 2009.
