Darrell Rasmussen, a long time math teacher at Interlake, as well as the head of the math department, passed away at the age of 81 on October 30, 2015. He was an original staff member when the school first opened in 1967, and he retired in 1996 after thirty years of service at Interlake. He was also a Navy Veteran who served on the destroyer USS John A. Bole during the Korean War.
